The Riot, as its name playfully hints, is a high-gain distortion box that will make a small clean tube combo sound like a raging stack. We have heard many distortion boxes and were never quite satisfied with how they sounded or felt with a clean amp. We wanted the sonic characteristics of the distortion and the way the pedal reacted to your touch like a high-gain 100w tube head. After much testing, re-working, and re-builds of the Riot over a period of a year, we are finally satisfied with how it performs and sounds in real world music applications with pro musicians performing live or in the studio. It works with the amp to deliver a big full sound that never sounds artificial or overly electronic. There are no bees-in-the-jar buzziness, harsh high-end or tubby lows that are often what you hear in high-gain distortion pedals. Again, a pedal is highly dependent on the amp it's connected to and how the amp is set, but the Riot will perform exceedingly well with virtually any decent tube amp out there - even with old vintage-style Blackface type of amps. The Shiba Drive is a smooth sounding overdrive pedal that will work great with clean amps for a bluesy overdrive tone or with an already overdriven amp to kick it to next gear. Suhr Koko Boost
The Koko Boost is a unique boost pedal in that it incorporates a clean transparent boost as well as a selectable midrange boost for maximum flexibility for a pedal in its class. Utilizing the finest components and rock solid construction and engineered by discerning musicians, the Koko boost is the ultimate boost pedal that dramatically empands the range of your tube amplifier. The Koko Boost is a clean boost and mid frequency boost pedal with a number of features. As a clean boost, the Koko Boost can vary from unity (buffered) to +20 db of gain. As a mid boost pedal, it can accentuate frequencies over 3 selectable ranges - low mid, mid, and high mid. The user can set the pedal to operate in buffered or true bypass mode.
The Koko Boost has unique features that are not available in other pedals. It can be remotely turned on or off by using the FxLink connector driven for an external switch closure, pedal board, loop switcher, or any other custom interface.
Both boost and mid boost functions are controllable via FxLink. This unique feature provides for the pedal's ability to power up in the ON or OFF state as well as the FxLink state.
The Koko Boost incorporates a unique battery monitor that alerts the user to low battery conditions. In addition, the battery monitor will automatically switch the pedal to true bypass if the battery is too low for the circuity to operate correctly. Suhr MiniMix
The Suhr MiniMix is the first professional tone tool product from John Suhr that significantly improves the performance of your guitar rig. Used by pros like Scott Henderson and Mike Landau, the MiniMix essentially converts the serial effects loop of your amp into an extremely transparent parallel effects loop that will not mess with the purity of your amp signal whatsoever. Designed by John Suhr utilizing only the highest grade audio components, the MiniMix features better than 0.004% total harmonic distortion and noise floor along with an extremely flat frequency response covering 20Hz to 20 KHz.
