Music Toyz.com Early Days......

It was 1991 when I had just been laid off from Grumman Aerospace as an engineer, a job I hated for 6 years out of college. My wife of 6 months told me I should start a company that specialized in guitar pedals and call it the Toy Store or Music Toys or something. Never one to take advice to well I named it EFXS Unlimited and off we went (as you old guys know your wife is always right and that's why 8 years later it changed to Music Toys.com).

I bought a desktop publishing package and started to make a catalog and started calling companies. We had 10 or 12 lines and a really crappy catalog but we pressed on. To the right you see the back cover of the catalog below is the cover where the label went. Next to that is some products etc. We never could really make a dent because the catalogs cost a fortune to produce and the mailing list and the ads etc. We also opened a store in 1993 which closed in 1996. For 5 yrs we did this and basically went broke but we did learn a lot

We worked this catalog till 1996 when I started hearing about this cool thing called the internet......ahhhhh !!!! Also anyone have any of these catalogs? Worth a $100 off a purchase if you do.......email me

PS: This page was made in black and white as a reference of what it was like for us back then. The Red Lettering that says "The Toy Store for Musicians" cost $500 or something crazy. But we thought it was the coolest thing in the world......
