This issue of Chop Shop we explore something just purely wacky, almost borderline silly. The National Surf Hurricane Wah Pedal!! I would love to have been at that meeting of the minds, 30 years ago, when a group of guys sat down and decided to build this pedal. Let me tell you they MUST have had some really good weed or something back then. Yeah, let's make a wah pedal and also make it sound like the surf and a hurricane and yeah.... yeah, let's also put a police siren in it!! This pedal might be down right useless but we thought it was so bizarre - it deserved this article.

From looking at the controls on the side you can see that the user has a choice between the surf, hurricane, and wah sounds. You can also blend how much of this annoying sound you want with the volume control. The wah is just a standard wah - well not even standard - kinda' below standard. The surf and the hurricane are a kind of white noise that whooshes when you use the wah. I played this pedal for 15 minutes the other night and I have to tell you - this pedal is the funniest pedal ever made. This is down right comedic, I almost fell off my chair!

Besides these inane features it does get better. On the top of the wah you can click a switch and a police siren goes off. This pedal was a must if you where in a Thin Lizzy Cover Band playing "Jailbreak". I think the police siren was the feature that put this pedal over the top and into the Chop Shop Hall of Fame!!!
